Poppies paintings modern contemporary art - week # 2


Hello everybody!

I wish the new year brings peace and love to all!

Today I post 4 new paintings, 2 of them are sold but there are prints available. 2 pieces are acrylic, with texture and Poppies, in one of them I added gold pigments for a golden metallic finish that looks really great.

Then, another piece with Poppies, I worked with oils in that one, it belongs to the series “Red Poppies’ Nostalgia”, great texture and colors!

Then an abstract acrylic, with a different texture design and gold pigments, no flowers.

All these were painted with palette knives.

Wild flowers and seascapes abstract paintings - week 32

Hello everyone!
1. I completed several pieces these past days. In the first one I built texture on the canvas, then I applied several layers of acrylic paint and after dried completely I applied more layers of oil paint this time. The theme is a landscape abstraction with wild yellow flowers.
3. & 4. I also finished two pieces that go to the series "Under the sea", one of them with rocks, the other with paint flowing all along the canvas resembling water.
2. Another abstraction, reflects my state of emotions during June-July with my life filled with surprises and a dose of uncertainty. The legend written in ink in Spanish translates: "indelible like the wind..." " living the uncertainty in the "here and now" "...
In this one I used acrylics, Prismacolor colored pencils and Indian ink.

Roses, wild flowers, cityscapes, abstract paintings modern art - week # 10

This week I finished one more painting of Roses, I worked the flowers with palette knife and structure media for texture, then I worked on the 5th. painting of the series "All dressed the same walking towards the light", I started this series in 2008, the title of this one is "5 men"; and another abstract cityscape in oils and acrylics.
I also revisited a floral oil that I started in 2007, I added more layers of paint and color.

Poppies art, abstraction, self portrait Monica Fallini - Week 49









Today I'm posting 2 poppies' paintings along with an abstract piece and a work in progress of my first self-portrait.

I consider the self-portrait as a point of inflection in my career as an artist for 2 reasons:
1- The first time I have the intention of doing a study of myself.
2- It is not the style I've been using to do other portraits of other people.

This is a totally new aproach, I would say more oriented to abstract expressionism.
It is a work in progress but I'm willing to sell it at any point of the process if the right buyer comes.

Modern art abstract paintings - week # 47






I These week's work is about 2 more abstract paintings related to the ocean series, one more belonging to "Urban Strategies" series and then another piece for the poppies series. I am working and "playing" with lots of texture, I love working with these flowers on highly textured backgrounds!

I am back at my studio after spending 9 days at the Red River Revel Arts Festival 2010 in Shreveport.
It was a very good show and the weather was great this year!

Daisies paintings modern art - week # 31

This is the work completed this week. There is a new theme in this new series, daisies.
In these abstract florals we can see great texture in impasto designs, a modern style.

I also completed an abstract landscape with path that I started some years ago.

I continued with poppies series and finally came out "Red Poppies Nostalgia # 2".

Another abstract seascape with the theme "Under the ocean".

Large abstract paintings, poppies art - week # 26


This past week has been really busy.
I'm exhibiting my paintings at Shakespeare Dallas this weekend and these 5 pieces are the ones I completed on Thursday.
The large one (40"x40") is the result of several weeks of work and it is the first "Square texture" of larger dimensions.
I'm preparing another one of same dimensions that will be completed in following weeks!
They all belong to the series "Urban strategies".

Acrylic paintings by Monica Fallini Deep Ellum Arts Festival - Week # 14




These past weeks I completed this 3 pieces I also completed a large commission, a "portrait of a house", I will post a video soon showing the process of completion of that piece.
I spent last weekend showing and selling my work at the Deep Ellum Arts Festival in Dallas, TX and I also add a couple of photos of this beautiful festival.
