This is the work completed this week. There is a new theme in this new series, daisies. In these abstract florals we can see great texture in impasto designs, a modern style.
I also completed an abstract landscape with path that I started some years ago.
I continued with poppies series and finally came out "Red Poppies Nostalgia # 2".
Another abstract seascape with the theme "Under the ocean".
I have been working on these paintings of poppies, 2 different approaches, in one of them I created a thick, interesting texture, working with palette knives mostly. The other using techniques as blending and dripping creating a modern piece, great decor! Enjoy! Monica.
This past week has been really busy. I'm exhibiting my paintings at Shakespeare Dallas this weekend and these 5 pieces are the ones I completed on Thursday. The large one (40"x40") is the result of several weeks of work and it is the first "Square texture" of larger dimensions. I'm preparing another one of same dimensions that will be completed in following weeks! They all belong to the series "Urban strategies".
Thank you and contact me with any questions, Monica.

Hello everybody! This week I completed these two pieces. The first one is an abstraction of corals and fish under the sea. The second one is another piece from my series of "Square texture" paintings, this time on an emerald green tonality. They are both acrylic and a gloss varnish was applied after the pictures were taken. Enjoy and have a great weekend!
This is the latest painting, it is a collage with rice paper, acrylic paint and varnish. With lots of texture and a glossy finish. The photo was taken before applying the varnish.
Then, a new video, this time about my paintings created with texture in "squares", mostly acrylics but also some oils, high texture, great wall decor fine art. The music is the song "Slowly" by Luis Eduardo Aute and it really captivates and inspires me with its sweetness and smooth rithm.

Hi everyone! I haven't completed any medium size paintings this week. I run out of wood and time! They will probably be completed by next Friday. I'm still working several hours a week on some commissions for custom paintings. This week I completed these poppies' paintings. I really enjoy working on these highly textured pieces. First I build a texture, then I apply several layers of paint and then I work on the flowers. Most of the pieces have a gloss finish, varnished. I'm also still working on a couple of commissioned pieces. I will post something when I finish them. Anyway they won't be completed before March. Hope you enjoy your visit and have a great week! Monica. Email: mfallini@yahoo.com Copyright 2010 by Monica Fallini - All rights reserved.
I grew-up in Uruguay and was always amazed by nature.
It was while living in Texas in 2004 that I had the opportunity of studying oil painting techniques in different courses, I also took drawing and photography lessons. I continued studying and doing research on different styles and techniques as self-taught until today.
I have been painting professionally since year 2004.
It is through the art of painting that I express my feelings, passions and emotions. I work on a loose and free style, abstract expressionism. I find inspiration in my memories of childhood years spent near Italian ancestors and their stories and nostalgia, and specially very attached to my grandmother that influenced me in my passion for nature and flowers in particular.
Several pieces were inspired by dreams people shared with me or my own dreams.
Being always surrounded by the Texan countryside has been a great environment to deepen this admiration of nature and it supported me to create the shapes, colors and compositions on my canvases.
