Red Poppies contemporary paintings - week 44th

Hello everybody!

I’m back to post some new paintings. I participated in a couple of shows in October that took most of my time for this month, the show themselves were busy and after them I had to prepare to work on some commissions.

I’m trying to update this blog with work completed some weeks ago.
These are 3 acrylic paintings with red poppies, I prepared a textured surface with pastes, then applied layers of acrylic colors, 2 of them have gold & copper pigments and a beautiful metallic finish.

Then I went back to paint the series of red poppies on green & blue landscape, these 3 pieces are oils, painted entirely with palette knife, great texture & colors!
I really enjoyed working on these oils?
I hope you enjoy them and please let me know if you have any questions.

As always thank you for your support.

Wild flowers and seascapes abstract paintings - week 32

Hello everyone!
1. I completed several pieces these past days. In the first one I built texture on the canvas, then I applied several layers of acrylic paint and after dried completely I applied more layers of oil paint this time. The theme is a landscape abstraction with wild yellow flowers.
3. & 4. I also finished two pieces that go to the series "Under the sea", one of them with rocks, the other with paint flowing all along the canvas resembling water.
2. Another abstraction, reflects my state of emotions during June-July with my life filled with surprises and a dose of uncertainty. The legend written in ink in Spanish translates: "indelible like the wind..." " living the uncertainty in the "here and now" "...
In this one I used acrylics, Prismacolor colored pencils and Indian ink.

Contemporary abstract paintings modern art - Week # 31

This past week 3 pieces were completed. My favorite is Red Poppies Nostalgia’s # 3, the third of a series of red Poppies on “marble” like backgrounds.

I used palette knives as tools and oil paint. The textured on this paintings is very interesting and blends softly in hues of brown and yellow.

Then, another piece for the series of abstract ocean, with texture again in hues of green. Varnish for protection.

To add of the series of Daisies, here is the latest Daisies painting, white flowers on red background. Highly textured, impasto, fine art décor.

Enjoy! Contact me with questions about my work at mfallini@yahoo.com

Contemporary modern abstract paintings - week 30

Hello everybody!
I'm back to post some new paintings after over a month and a half!
Big changes took place during the month of June and I had to relocate my residence and my studio and spent all this time without access to internet. That's the main reason why I couldn't upload the latest work.
Today I am listing 6 paintings, all of them were created and completed just before the changes happened.
The 2 Zen paintings reflect a state of my mind at that moment, a state of emptiness and simplicity, now that I see it from the distance, they may have been the prelude of this transition.
Then comes another piece to add to " Urban strategies" , this time on hues of red and gold finish.
Red Poppies on yellow is another oil for the series of poppies.
More Poppies, this time an abstract with squares and bright colors as usual.
Then, this large piece of 40" x 40", an abstraction of a city painted with palette knives and acrylics and collage. Great size, texture and colors!
Thank you for your patience and I am glad to be back!

Poppies art, abstraction, self portrait Monica Fallini - Week 49

Today I'm posting 2 poppies' paintings along with an abstract piece and a work in progress of my first self-portrait.

I consider the self-portrait as a point of inflection in my career as an artist for 2 reasons:
1- The first time I have the intention of doing a study of myself.
2- It is not the style I've been using to do other portraits of other people.

This is a totally new aproach, I would say more oriented to abstract expressionism.
It is a work in progress but I'm willing to sell it at any point of the process if the right buyer comes.
Have a great weekend.
As always thank you for your support.
